If you don't watch the Stone Giants sequence in this film and feel like there's a place for this in the world of cinema, then there may be no helping you, I'm afraid. I was bracing for the worst from The Hobbit because of these ridiculous slams by critics and friends. What an unexpectedly wonderful journey it took me on instead a journey on a brand new path of opportunity for my favorite artform.
